A Day In The Life (2008-07-16)
- Finished first pass at JS/CSS optimizations. The app now performs from 8s loads down to 4s.Wrote compiler for two parameterized dynamic JS. #
- Going to cleanup and eat.4.5 hours of sleep and back to the grind. Will work on CSS and Avatar optimizations before trying to get outside. #
- Switching over to all eco options for al of my water soluble detergents like dishwashing and laundry. Don’t know what can replace Lysol? #
- @singlepatatina
Per qualche strana ragione ho il forte la spinta a imparare a parlare italiano. Piacere conoscerla! # - Did my mid afternoon walk to D&D and read through InformationWeek.I’m a big believer in cloud computing now.Mosso is working out great. #
- A little behind today on getting done what I was suppose to codewise. I’ve been cleaning up the place. Contractors installing windows soon. #
- @loiclemeur Thanks for stopping by the @rgbdaily blog a couple weeks ago. Looking to launch with Seesmic in September at the latest. #
- @pfmonaco See you at PodCamp

Switch to Green Detergents
When I think about the problems we are facing in the environment I like to think big picture. The truth is we can directly affect the quality of our rivers, streams, and ground water by switching to safe eco-friendly water soluble detergents. As I run out of the old stuff I will make the transition. Time to start looking at the easy things that won’t take 20 years to solve (energy crisis which will get a lot worst before it gets better).
A Day In The Life (2008-07-15)
- Working on using Minify to decrease the amount of request on a page. Even with caching conditional GETs still add to seconds. #
- Taking a break and visiting TechCrunch. Avoided blog reading today and just coded and did research. Performance and security improvements! #
- Learned a lot about locking down Apache, wrangling caching, and currently fooling around with Minify js. #
- @techCrunch Great monetization questions for Williams. My take is that they are avoiding valuation limiting revenue until the homerun. #
A Day In The Life (2008-07-14)
- Its scary how inefficient some of this code is. Hitting the db for everything! Pulling avatars hits the db. That’s just crazy.Fixing it #
A Day In The Life (2008-07-13)
- Going to get Indian with my friends. Oops, actually going to get Thai because my friend will be in India for three weeks. #
- Finished watching Tyler Perry’s “Meet The Browns”. I didn’t think it was that good. Liked Angela Bassett though, she’s was hot. #
- Just finished fixing Postie and WordpressMobile plugins so that they work together. Postie already thumbnails so I needed to fix WM. #
- Going to bed. #
- Looks like I can get away with attaching video directly from my phone. Looks like I should do a quick pic for a thumbnail though. Exciting #
Quick Video Test
This is a quick test to see how well video works with Postie. I’m watching Fareed Zakaria GPS on CNN. This was an exclusive interview with Obama on foreign politics. It was pretty interesting, McCain is pretty crazy when it comes to policy. McCain wants to exclude China and Russia from the G8. Obama mentions nuclear proliferation as a reason to keep Russia close to the vest. China is the fastest growing economy in the world, duh.
Update: The video quality and the microphone aren’t the best on the Motorola Q9C. Looks like I’ll be sticking to stills ![]()
Kujo
A quick picture of Kujo for a test. Trying to fix Postie with the image support.
A Day In The Life (2008-07-12)
- Finally setup Twitter tools on the blog ;). Anyone know of a good plugin for doing email with pics and text too create a post in WP? #
- Just bought some olive oil shampoo from http://www.donnadeesdesigns.com, well at the farmer’s market in Waltham. Gotta support local
# - Great, now my machine is hung as soon as I finish patching Postie. I need to get out of here so I can hit the gym,, grrrr. #
First blog post message from my phone!
Well that’s if you don’t include Twitter. I think that images are broken in Wordpress 2.5, but will be fixed in the next release. I’ll set an attachment anyway to test things out. Anyway, you’ll get more updates from me because of the email integration I’m doing on my blogs. I’ll setup something for RGB Daily next.
A Day In The Life (2008-07-11)
- Finding a lot of points foir optimizing the codebase. Looking at most PHP applications, why do they think storing config in the db is good? #

- Successfully jumped the Golf, had to charge the battery overnight. Also completed reg/invite integration.Need to fix installer (modularize) #
